Teresa Rose Santana
Fiber Arts
Fiber woven on circular and rectangular copper looms. I use a mix of natural fiber, mostly cotton and wool blends.

I am a fiber artist working primarily from my studio in downtown Point Arena. My practice centers on an exploration of texture and color, developed through my own language of unconventional weaving. I approach the loom as both a tool and a space for experimentation, where structure becomes fluid and rules can be reimagined.
My work is grounded in an intuitive process that responds to the materials themselves. I work largely with reclaimed fibers, reflecting a belief in reuse, resourcefulness, and the value of giving materials a second life. These elements come together in layered, tactile surfaces, where irregularities and shifts help guide the final form. Much of my work takes the shape of abstract circles, with color building and expanding outward in rhythmic, growing rings.
I keep my studio door open whenever I am working, inviting visitors in to observe and engage with the process as it unfolds. Sharing this space allows for conversation, curiosity, and a deeper connection to humanity through art.
Rather than following traditional weaving patterns, I construct compositions that evolve slowly and organically, guided by instinct and material.
