Lauren Moore

Fine Art Watercolor Painting

I create watercolor paintings with botanical-inspired forms layered over geometric backgrounds that emphasize the transparency and vibrance of watercolor.  My paintings explore a botanical scene in a series of different color and shape compositions.

After drawing and sketching for several years, I migrated to watercolor.  I now paint daily, an important part of my life.  The transparent beauty of watercolor and rich color appeals to me.  With the first drop of pigment on wet paper, I was hooked.

The beauty of the natural world is my most frequent inspiration from walks at The Sea Ranch and hikes in the Sierra, the Southwest, or next travel adventure.  I’ve recently painted series inspired by cypress hedgerows at The Sea Ranch, roses at the Portland Rose Garden, and the unique plant life of the Sonoran Desert.

I will be showing my work together with my husband David Moore and his fine art landscape photography at our Sea Ranch home.
