Perry Hoffman

Ceramics, Mosaics, Photography, and Collage
Using a variety of different mediums I enjoy transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. I spend a significant amount of time photographing wildlife and often transform these images into new scenarios. Working in clay has been a lifelong endeavor and is still evolving. I am inspired by the sea and the forest where I can experience my place in the natural world.

I have worked in collage from an early age, cutting and pasting since childhood. Then came the computer age and photoshop. I have also been a photographer since about age five, and I continue to use my own photos in my collage work. Photographing wildlife and birds is a passion. Currently I work with my own images and repurpose them to form a bigger picture. I have worked in mosaic for the last 27 years and treat that like I treat my collage work, working in a spontaneous manner that allows the images and pieces to speak to me. My work is a way of processing the crazy inside me and the crazy of the world, of which there is no limit. Ceramics is another vehicle for me and so many different mediums intrigue me. Currently I am exhibiting work at Discovery Gallery in Gualala, Elk Collective in Elk, and Coast Highway Art Collective in Point Arena.
