Suzanne Dunn

Suzanne Dunn is a Mendocino Coast-based ceramic artist and painter. She earned a degree from San Francisco Art Institute in 1995, with further education at California College of the Arts and UCLA. Dunn began her ceramic practice in 2013, primarily concentrating on functional work. She often works with a medium-toned clay and utilizes forms which refer to modernist German and Italian pottery. Her hand-painted decorations have strong ties to Mid Century Modern design. Each of her ceramics go through several firings to become a finished piece.

Color plays an important role in Dunn’s work. She often uses warm colors, especially oranges, in her designs. She considers those colors energetic and healing. Dunn works with several repeating patterns, however every pot has some variation. No two pieces are identical.

Suzanne Dunn is represented by Oli Gallery in Guerneville, CA. She also sells her work directly through studio and maker sales throughout the year.
