Terry Green

The ceramic vessels I am creating come from shapes influenced from my career in architecture, the desire to creat objects that are simple in design and possess the textures and structures familiar in my profession. The designs are restrained by my aaffinity towrd minimalism. The composed shapes are simple, clean uncluttered objects. Penetrations through the pieces brings lightness and balance to the work and a sort of emptiness. The focus of my work is on the basic elements.

Guided by a commitment to essential elements and purity of forms, the intentional use of structure provides a framework to create a balance between solid and void. Transparency serves as a lens, revealing the inner dialogue between material and light, while the cylindrical voids disrupt conventional structural expectations. Together, these elements compose a minimalist narrative that transcends functionality, encouraging an appreciation for the purity of geometric pattern and the quiet elegance of non-utilitarian ceramics.
